Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcji Lodów Koral (PPL Koral) is the largest ice cream manufacturer in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The company was founded by brothers Józef and Marian Koral. As a family-owned business with Polish capital, it has been selling ice cream and frozen desserts for over 45 years. Each year, this long-standing presence in the market is rewarded with prestigious awards in the food industry.

The company's headquarters is located in Nowy Sącz, while the production lines are situated in Limanowa and Rzeszów.

Labeling and Physical Inventory of Assets

‍

PPL Koral has decided to collaborate with OPTIDATA for the purpose of outsourcing the labeling and inventorying of tangible fixed assets located at the production facilities in Rzeszów and Limanowa. As part of the project, documentation was created presenting a detailed analysis of the process, including the selection of durable labeling methods, IT tools used for collecting inventory data, the work schedule, and control procedures.

The tagging and inventory work was carried out in two stages:

• Preliminary tagging – temporary marking and description of fixed assets for the purpose of collecting the required information,
• Final tagging – permanent marking using a dedicated specialist label with a unique identifier in the form of a barcode, which corresponds to an entry in the asset register maintained by PPL Koral.

The process was carried out using the innovative AMS OPTIEST system – proprietary OPTIDATA software, which provides remote (online) supervision over the progress of inventory and tagging work. Additionally, the system enables unambiguous identification of each object, collecting a large amount of data (e.g., serial number, technical condition, photographic documentation). The automation of the inventory process inherently saves time compared to the traditional method, while simultaneously ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the collected data. Inventory data stored in the memory of mobile terminals is securely transmitted to the central OPTIDATA server.

Benefits of Cooperation in Asset Tagging and Inventory

PPL Koral decided to standardize asset tagging and use tags with a unique identifier in the form of a barcode to automate the process of asset identification, thereby supporting the asset registration records. Cooperation in this area with OPTIDATA, which has over 20 years of experience in conducting inventory projects, ensured the reliability and accuracy of the collected data.
